Varsity Baseball Beats Atherton 7-3
The Eagles picked up their first win of the season against Atherton High School 7-2. On the mound George Edwards threw the first two innings striking out 3, walking 1, and giving up 1 earned runs. In a crucial point of the game with the bases loaded and no outs Max Morrison came in relief of George with the Eagles down 1-0. The Eagles were able to get out of the jam retiring the next 3 hitters in order (6-2 PO, K, and 4-3) to keep the deficit at 1. In the top of the 6th the bats came alive and the Eagles plated all 7 runs. Picking up 1 hit a piece was Landon Eversman (1 RS, 2 RBI), Alex Goetz (3B, RS, 2 RBI, HBP, 2 RBI), Jayce Derr ( RS), Hudson Byers (RS, 2 RBI, 3B), Carter Waldenzak (1 RS, 1 RBI), Austin Ganues (SB, RS, HBP). The Eagles are 1-2, and will be back in action on 4/3 in their home opener at 4:45 against Oak Harbor.
Varsity Baseball Loses 7-2 to Shelby County
Varsity baseball dropped their second game of the season 7-2 to Shelby County. Starting on the mound Darin Fussell went the first 3 innings striking out 3, walking one, and giving up only 2 earned runs. Max Sutton came in relief to throw the last three frames allowing only 2 hits, striking out 2, walking 1, and not giving up an earned run. At the plate the Eagles had five different players collect 1 hit each; Brayden Toneff (BB), Carsen Wilkins, Landon Eversman (2B, RS), Ray Campos (3B, BB), and Jayce Derr (RBI). The varsity baseball team is 0-2 on the season and have one game left in Kentucky against Atherton High School (3/29/25 @ 5:00).
Varsity Baseball Drops Season Opener to Eastern (KY) 6-2
The varsity baseball team opened their 2025 season in Louisville, KY with a loss against the #9 team in the state (MaxPreps) Eastern High School. On the mound Landon Eversman threw the first 3, striking out 7 and walking only 2. He gave up 4 hits and 4 earned runs. Coming in to throw the final 3 frames was Bryce Besgrove who struck out 3 and walked 2. He gave up three hits and 2 ER. At the plate the Eagles were led by Landon going 2-3 (2B/3B). Also picking up 1 hit a piece was Hudson Byers (RBI), Brannan Vargas (RBI), Brayden Toneff, Carsen Wilkins, and Carter Waldenzak. The Eagles will be back in action today (3/29/25) playing a split site doubleheader against Shelby County (11 am) and Atherton (5 pm).
Graham Family Press Box Signage Completed
Finishing touches were put on the Locker Room/Press Box at Ousky Field yesterday. The signage naming the Ousky Press Box after the Graham Family is complete. The baseball program and the community as a whole are very fortunate to call the Graham's one of our own!
