Congratulations to senior Madison Franke on representing Clay HS in the NW District All-Star Game held at the Rossford Athletic Complex!
This game showcases the area's best softball players, with participation reserved for athletes who earned First Team All-District honors. Maddie's selection was a well-deserved recognition of her outstanding senior campaign. She added one final highlight to an incredible Clay career by launching a home run in her last game wearing a Clay uniform.

Clay Eagles senior Madison Franke put on a show at the Mud Hens Home Run Showdown, delivering an unforgettable performance in front of a tremendous crowd of softball fans.
With her father, Aaron Franke, pitching and teammate Vanessa Wilk behind the plate, Maddie blasted her way to the highest score of the opening round with 64 points, earning a spot in the championship round. She continued her impressive performance and finished 3rd overall against some of the area's top power hitters.

What an incredible week for Clay Eagles Softball! We were thrilled to welcome a record-breaking 57 campers to this year's youth softball camp. The energy, enthusiasm, and love for the game displayed by these young athletes made the camp a tremendous success. We are excited to see the future of Clay Softball continue to grow!
A special thank you goes out to our high school players and coaching staff. Your dedication, leadership, and willingness to give back to the next generation of Eagles helped create a fun, positive, and memorable experience for every camper. You represented our program with pride and served as outstanding role models both on and off the field. Thank you to all the campers and families who participated. We can't wait to see everyone back on the field again soon!

Senior, Madison Franke, has been selected to participate in the 2026 Toledo Mud Hens high school Home Run Showdown on Wednesday, June 10th. Maddie has 90 seconds to hit as many home runs as possible. She will compete against 6 other local seniors. The winner will receive a $1,000 scholarship and the school that buys the most tickets to the event will win $500 for the athletic department. You can purchase a ticket at Mudhens.com/SoftballShowdown. Come out and cheer on Maddie while her dad pitches to her on June 10th.

All good things must come to an end…the varsity softball team had an amazing season, but today did not go as planned. The Eagles made it to the Sweet 16, but lost to Westerville Central in the regional semi-final by a score of 3-9. Emily Cordell and Zoi Zahradnik shared pitching duties for Clay. Six different players recorded a hit for the Eagles but Lily Cordell was the only player with a multiple hit night. She went 2 for 4 and scored a run. Maddie Frankie recorded the only extra base hit with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly to claim 2 RBI. Ellie Haynes, Grace Montgomery, Belle Ringle, and Vanessa Wilk each recorded singles while Jenna Swartz had a strong defensive showing at second base. The Eagles finished the season with a record of 22-6, a District Championship trophy, and the NLL Cardinal Division Championship.
