Varsity Softball wins District Semi-final
The constant rain did not stop the varsity softball team from winning the District Semi-final game over Start by a score of 16-5. Jenna Swartz threw the complete 5-inning game and gave up 6 hits with 6 strike outs and only 1 free pass. Brynn Reiter and Lindsey Jones each hit a triple. Jenna Swartz went 2 for 3 and Vanessa Wilk added a single. The Eagles will play in the District Championship game at BGSU on Friday at 4:00 pm.
Varsity Softball tops Fremont Ross
The varsity softball team finished NLL play with a 14-3 victory at Fremont Ross. Emily Cordell pitched the full 7 innings and gave up only 4 hits with 10 strike outs and 4 walks. Lily Cordell went 3 for 4 with a double and Bri Skadsheim went 3 for 4 with an RBI and 3 stolen bases. Ellie Haynes recorded a home run and a double for the Eagles who now have an overall record of 17-6.
Errors Were Costly in Loss to Perrysburg
The varsity softball team had a rough night defensively in the 14-4 loss to Perrysburg. The highlight of the night was back-to-back home runs by Brynn Reiter and Ellie Haynes in the 6th inning. Ellie had a great game at the plate by going 3 for 3 with two doubles and the previously mentioned dinger. Maddie Franke had a double and a stolen base while Olivia Haas added a single. Emily Cordell got the start in the circle and shared pitching duties with Bri Skadsheim.
Varsity Softball Victorious on Teacher Appreciation Night
The varsity softball team defeated Findlay by a score of 12-8. Emily Cordell and Bri Skadsheim shared pitching duties for the Eagles. Olivia Haas went 2 for 3 with a home run, a stolen base, and 2 RBI. The seniors recognized 3 outstanding teachers prior to the game. Mrs. Melissa Kidd, Ms. Sarah Bretz, and Miss Kathryn Seguin were chosen for the positive impact that they have made in the lives of our senior athletes.
Varsity Softball Tallies Another League W
The varsity softball team traveled to Napoleon to record the 11-4 NLL victory. Emily Cordell did not allow a hit until the 5th inning and held the Wildcats scoreless until the 6th, at which point Bri Skadsheim replaced her to finish the game. Ellie Haynes continued to swing a hot bat by going 4 for 4 with 3 doubles, an RBI, and 3 runs scored. Lily Cordell went 3 for 4 with a double and Maddie Franke went 3 for 5 with 2 doubles. Olivia Haas earned the longest drive award by going 2 for 4 with a line drive home run in her last at bat.
Varsity Softball Beats BG on Senior Night
The varsity softball team earned the 11-1 win against Bowling Green on Senior Night. Olivia Haas pitched a solid 5 innings giving up 1 run on 2 hits with 5 strike outs. Bri Skadsheim pitched the final inning without allowing a run. Jenna Swartz went 3-4 with 3 RBI to lead the Eagle offense. Ellie Haynes also went 3-4 with an RBI. Olivia Haas hit a triple in her first at bat and later hit a 3-run bomb to left field. Seniors Brynn Reiter, Lindsey Jones, and Bri Skadsheim brought the energy all night long and got it done!
Varsity Softball Falls to SMCC
The varsity softball team battled with St. Mary Catholic Central from Monroe, MI but fell short. Pitching duties were shared by Emily Cordell, Jenna Swartz, and Zoi Zahradnik. The Eagles were led by Lily Cordell who went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, 2 RBI, a stolen base, and 2 runs scored. Ellie Haynes also added a double, a single, and 3 RBI.
Varsity Softball Improves to 13-4 with Win over Fremont Ross
The varsity softball team defeated Fremont Ross by a score of 9-3. Emily Cordell started the game in the circle for the Eagles and allowed 1 run on 1 hit with 7 strikeouts and 2 walks. Bri Skadsheim came on in relief and allowed 2 runs on 3 hits with 4 strikeouts and no free passes. Ellie Haynes led the run production for the Eagles with a 3 for 4 performance which included a double and 2 RBI. Brynn Reiter also had a solid day at the plate by going 2 for 3 with a double and 1 RBI.
