Technology

The Technology Department provides hardware, software, training, repairs and maintenance for all network and computer systems. Our department continually strives to meet the ever increasing demands of education in the 21st century.

Over the past several years, we have worked diligently to improve operational efficiency and we work hard daily to provide quick and efficient support for everyone in the district. We are proud to say that we have a very robust WiFi environment, which provides wireless connectivity to our students and staff in almost every corner of our district. Our number one goal is to provide a technology environment that helps to support successful learning opportunities for all students and staff.

Oregon City Schools is happy to say that we have a complete one-to-one learning environment with a chromebook for every student at ALL grade levels. Students in grades K-4 utilize chromebooks on carts. Each classroom has a cart of chromebooks - enough for each student to have their own device. Students in grades 5-12 have a chromebook issued to them and they keep their device 24/7. Starting in May of 2022, students entering grades 7-12 keep their chromebooks over the summer. Additionally, the technology department, in conjunction with the curriculum department, maintains interactive digital textbooks. Most all textbooks come in a digital format. We also vet and maintain an abundance of quality digital resources to help support our curriculum. These resources can be found in this Google spreadsheet - OCS Approved Digital Resources. This list of approved digital resources is continually updated as new resources are approved by the district. Having increased availability to technology during the school day and beyond, through our 1-1 program, allows teachers to successfully integrate these resources into their lessons.
