Clay High School Science Experiment Notice 🔍
Tomorrow, Tuesday, October 8th, around 2:45 p.m., under the guidance of the Jerusalem Township Fire Department, a live controlled burn will take place on Clay High School property.
Clay High School Career & Tech students have built burn pods, two 8x8x8 rooms, with finished drywall and furnished with household items. These pods will be set on fire.
This project, funded by Oregon Schools Foundation, allows students to investigate a real world crime scene and fire scenario. After the demonstration, students will make presentations about what happened in each of the two pods, justifying their argument with evidence they collect.
Local residents may notice a significant amount of black smoke coming from the area behind the stadium, where the burn pods will be placed. Please be assured there is no need for concern.
